The topic of gun control is not a new one in this country. But with the continued mass shootings taking place in this nation, under Trump’s presidency, the American people have grown increasingly panicked and frustrated by the government’s lack of action. And it all traces back to the NRA lobbyists that are heavily involved on Capitol Hill.
This week, two students who survived the horrific school shooting in Parkland, made an appearance on CBSN, in which they detailed how the NRA, and their gun-toting followers, have been threatening them ever since the tragic event happened.
The two students, David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez didn’t hold back when discussing their current tribulations with the NRA. Hogg said, “I think it just goes to prove exactly what they are. I don’t think NRA members are bad people at all. I think they’re responsible gun owners that want to become politically active and make their voices heard in this democracy.
Adding, “I think the problem comes in when it’s people at the top of this organization that don’t listen to their constituents, and continue to scare people into buying more guns, creating more violence so they can scare more people and sell more guns.” Which led Emma to comment, saying, “They’ve been instigating things. And then we reply, they shy away. Like they can dish it out, but they can’t take it.”
