There is no one left who denies that the Russian government worked to influence the 2016 presidential elections other than the president and his cult of rabid fans. However, a new scheme to discredit Trump’s political rival, Hillary Clinton, is coming to light nearly a year after the popular vote went to Clinton but the electoral college landed Trump in the White House anyway.
The Russian government funded a “troll factory” to create disparaging memes, videos, and online “news” designed to wound Trump’s political rival. The Daily Beast reports that Alan Baskaev, the “first former employee of the factory’s American division to go on record,” revealed that one of the more deplorable ideas out of that American troll factory was a fake sex tape featuring a male actor of color along with a Hillary lookalike.
‘You know, there’s this meme about the troll factory, people sitting in black caps, masks, behind them there’s a photo of Putin and a Russian flag. They’re so intense. I don’t know what happened on the day shift, but the night shift was a bacchanal. We did the most ridiculous things we could think of.’
Baskaev says that he posed as a “Kentucky redneck” and a young black man in online interactions with the purpose of stirring political discord and boosting Trump’s supporters’ hatred for Clinton. After all, what could possibly be worse to a racist, white nationalist voter than a white woman having sex with a black man? Baskaev insists that he tried to convince his co-workers that no one would believe Clinton was caught on tape having sex with anyone, but the video was created, regardless.
While the sex video was not released, a fake YouTube video of an American soldier of color shooting a Quran was, although the video was obviously discredited on its own when the actor turned out to have an African accent, prompting many viewers to immediately mock the ridiculous attempt by commenting in Russian.

Baskaev named a friend of Russian president Vladimir Putin, Yevgeny Prigozhin, as the head of the troll factory, although another man, Dzheykhun Aslanov, served as the troll’s “boss” during the operation.
