Uh-oh! When Trump saw that Fox made a deal with Disney, he became worried that his propaganda arm would turn against him. After Donald Trump caught wind of the news, he ran to the phone to call his friend Rupert Murdoch, reports The New York Times.
Throughout the year, the Trump administration has used Fox News as a platform to convince Americans that all anti-Trump news is fake news. Trump slime Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders regularly appear on Fox to get tossed a series of softballs to glorify the president.
During Trump’s call to Murdoch, Murdoch reportedly assured Trump that Fox News’ agenda wouldn’t change following the purchase of 21st Century Fox by Disney. Trump breathed a huge sigh of relief when he realized that state-run Fox News wasn’t going to report actual news
Every day, Trump blasts the “Fake News” media on Twitter and even promotes Fox News as the only reliable major media outlet in the country.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters of Trump’s call to Murdoch:
“The president spoke with Rupert Murdoch earlier today, congratulated him on the deal and thinks that, to use one of the president’s favorite words, that this could be a great thing for jobs. And he certainly looks forward to and is hoping to see a lot more of those created.”
