Former President Jimmy Carter dealt out harsh criticism of President Trump, explaining to CBS News that he is “careless with the truth.”

“I think it’s well-known that the incumbent president is very careless with the truth,” he stated.

“I think I went through my campaign and my presidency without ever lying to the people or making a deliberately false statement, and I think that would be a very worthwhile thing to reinsert into politics these days,” Carter continued.

However, Carter later revealed that he does want the president to succeed during his time in office.

“I’m not here to criticize the incumbent president, just wish him well and I pray for him,” he said.

The Washington Post’s Fact Checker reported back in August that Trump had made a shocking 4,229 false or misleading claims since assuming office.

A poll conducted earlier this year also discovered that the perception of the president’s honesty fall along partisan lines. An NBC News/Survey Monkey poll in May had found that 94 percent of Democrats believe that Trump tells the truth less often than he lies, while 66 percent of Republicans think that he says the truth all or most of the time.

Meanwhile, President Trump had stormed to his Twitter Tuesday morning to accuse Google of “suppressing voices of conservatives” and rigging its search engine to amplify liberal media outlets.

“Google search results for ‘Trump News’ shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media,” Trump wrote. “In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out.

“Illegal? 96% of results on ‘Trump News’ are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous,” he added. “Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!”
