This week, Trump made another rash decision in the form of pulling the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal. Many critics believe that he made the decision solely to slight Obama since Obama had worked diligently to make the deal happen. Then there is the fact that North Korea suddenly released U.S. prisoners shortly after Trump announced that he would pull out of the deal.
European leaders from France, Germany, and the UK – who are all part of the Iran deal – came together to condemn Trump’s decision to pull out. Top Democrats also denounced Trump’s decision, saying that he just opened the gates for Iran to continue its nuclear program.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel just lost a ton of faith in the U.S. all thanks to Donald. According to The Hill, Merkel stated that Europe can no longer depend on America for military protection and must “take its destiny into its own hands.”
Chancellor Merkel delivered the statements during a ceremony to honor French President Emmanuel Macron. She added, “It’s no longer the case that the United States will simply just protect us.”
“Rather, Europe needs to take its fate into its own hands. That’s the task for the future,” explained Merkel.
