Hillary Clinton praises Lebron James after Trump’s slam – Twitter’s reaction is everything

It seems like Hillary Clinton always steps up to the plate whenever we need her the most and today was no exception.

Clinton came forth this Saturday to throw her support behind NBA all-star LeBron James on Saturday after President Trump tore into him on Twitter, labeling James a “world class athlete and a class act.”

“James is a great family man, incredible ballplayer, gives back to his community, and isn’t afraid to speak his mind,” Clinton wrote on Saturday.
“We need more like him in this world,” she continued.

Trump criticized James in a tweet Friday evening, claimed that he was “just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon” who “made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do.”

Lemon had sat down with James to talk about the school for at-risk youth that the NBA player is opening in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

James was also highly critical of the president during the interview, arguing that Trump was using sports to “divide” the nation.

Others have come forth to show their support for James following the swift aftermath of Trump’s tweet: Michael Jordan, who the president said he prefers over James, stated that the former Cleveland Cavaliers star is “doing an amazing job for his community.”

The first lady, Melania Trump’s spokeswoman, also released a statement Saturday saying that “it looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation,” adding that the first lady is “open” to visiting his new school.
