On Saturday, women across the nation marched in solidarity for women’s rights and representation. Ivanka Trump was not among them. In fact, she’s ditched women’s empowerment altogether.
On New Year’s Day, Ivanka Trump updated her Twitter bio to no longer include “passionate advocate for the education and empowerment of women and girls.” Her new bio reads: “Wife, mother, sister, daughter. Advisor to POTUS on job creation + economic empowerment, workforce development & entrepreneurship. Personal Pg. Views are my own.”
She also—wisely—removed the link to ivankatrump.com.
At the beginning of the Trump presidency, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner—also, inexplicably, a presidential advisor—were the best hope liberals had (remember, at this time, Steve Bannon was the President’s top advisor).
Those hopes quickly died, especially after people started reading her book, R
ICH WHITE WOMAN: AND SO CAN YOU Women Who Work, where she talked about giving up the joy of doing her own grocery shopping, and includes the line “Honestly, I wasn’t treating myself to a massage…” to describe the sacrifices she made to inherit billions from her father, including a job.
But it’s not like anyone ever believed she was a feminist icon anyway, as Twitter users let her know.
LOL, Ivanka’s feminism is as empty as her updated Twitter bio. https://t.co/JInRCx3rFW

Did Ivanka ever embrace the feminist cause? Doubtful.

Ivanka is part of the problem. She is complicit.

She was never one tbh

At least now she’s being honest about how much she doesn’t care.
