Jim Carrey just released shocking new painting of Trump

Jim Carrey—actor, comedian, impressionist, screenwriter, producer, and painter—has been sharing his political commentary in his paintings, which he shares on Twitter.

This past week has been a busy one for Carrey. He’s been painting up a storm, tackling such diverse subjects as:

  • the children who are being ripped from their mothers’ arms at the Mexican border;
  • the “fake patriotism” Trump evinces to strong-arm the NFL;
  • Roseanne’s racism, and walls both metaphorical and literal;
  • Trump’s frightening similarity to Richard Nixon; and
  • the shocking neglect of American citizens in Puerto Rico.
  • In each of his paintings, he is brutally frank—but it does exactly what art is supposed to do: provoke, persuade, and touch us viscerally.

On Sunday he posted an image of ICE agents separating an infant from its mother at a border crossing. He writes:

1500 innocent children ripped from their mothers’ arms at our border. Lost in Trump’s “system”. Give us your tired, your poor, your huddle masses yearning to breathe free — and we will torture them for wanting a better life. From Shining City to Evil Empire in under 500 days.

On Tuesday, he tackled the new NFL rule that forces athletes to stand, not kneel, when the National Anthem plays, though they may still protest by not taking the field until after the anthem if they wish. But a public protest? No longer allowed.

Carrey painting Trump at an NFL lectern screaming with rage, while prominent advertising logos are displayed on banners behind him. His caption:

NFL — who exploits players for 3yrs then abandons them to a lifetime of pain — sided with a draft-dodging racist who uses fake patriotism to squash peaceful protest. Corporations shld rethink sponsoring moral cowardice before we start asking: whose side is Nationwide really on?

On Wednesday, he offered a painting of Roseanne Barr—just her face, with a large yellow T (for “Trump”?) on her forehead. He writes:

The “wall” he intends to build is in our hearts. If you help him, you will wear his mark and your reward will be disgrace.

On Thursday he painted the head of Richard Nixon, surrounded by flames, with the caption:

“Hey Dirty Donald, Tricky Dick Nixon, here. The dark one likes the cut of your jib. Taking people’s children away at the border really made an impression. Ailes and I can’t wait to see ya!”

Last but far from least, on Friday he posted a photograph of a Carrey painting of a crying child’s face, on paper that was torn and crumpled, being tossed into a trashcan. His message:

The WORST TERROR a child can experience is being taken from their parents. Would blonde, blue-eyed children ever be treated so brutally at our border? Would 4,600 Puerto Ricans have been left to die if they were “white”? NO. Trumpism is racism. WHAT IN GOD’S NAME HAVE WE BECOME?
