Mexican President just trashed Trump in an epic video message

China isn’t the only country standing up to President Trump’s bullying. Tired of Trump’s renewed round of insults and threats to militarize the southern U.S. border this week, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto launched a counter attack of his own Thursday with a scathing video message directed squarely at his American counterpart. The gist of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto message was simple: quit blaming Mexico for your own failings as commander-in-chief.

“If your recent statements are the result of frustration due to domestic policy issues, to your laws or to your Congress, it is to them that you should turn to, not to Mexicans,” he said.

He wasn’t done. Answering Trump’s continued threats to get Mexico to pay for his long desired wall across the length of the southern border, President Peña Nieto looked dead into the camera and said, “Nothing and no one stands above the dignity of Mexico.”

Peña Nieto’s term comes to an end later this summer, and the candidates to replace him have been much more active standing up to Trump than the sitting president, and many feel Thursday’s video was at least in part meant to appease domestic critics.

Whatever the motive, his passionate defense of his country is sure to silence even the most cynical Mexican political observers, and boil some blood in the White House at the same time.

“As Mexicans, we may disagree among ourselves, especially during election periods,” he said, “but we will always be united when it comes to defending our country’s dignity and sovereignty.”
