According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, special counsel Robert Mueller’s team requested information from Cambridge Analytica, the data firm utilized by Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. The reports say Mueller has requested emails from everyone who has worked with the campaign, including Trump
Although previously unknown, the request was completely voluntary and Cambridge Analytica is reportedly happy to comply with it. The CEO of the data firm held a video call interview with the House Intelligence Committee this week. Reports mention that Nix contacted Trump donor Rebekah Mercer to discuss organizing emails related to WikiLeaks.
“I can confirm an approach by Cambridge Analytica [prior to November last year] and can confirm that it was rejected by WikiLeaks,” Assange tweeted.
Mueller’s investigation into Russian ties with the Trump administration exploded last month when former national security adviser Michael Fynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his interaction with Russians. In October, Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and his business partner were indicted in Mueller’s investigation, charged with money laundering and tax fraud.
As dirt on the Trump administration compiles against them, Americans watch and wait for a reprieve from the madness that has become the U.S since inauguration day.
