White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders came into the new week slamming Democrats for the painful, ongoing attack on DACA and it’s recipients. She appeared on Fox & Friends saying that Trump was “forced” to conclude safety of Dreamers, who are undocumented immigrants who had no say in being brought to America illegally as children. Because the penalty shouldn’t fall in the hands of these people, who are no adults, DACA has been set up to protect them from being deported so that they can stay in the U.S. legally. (Video below)
Of course, our current president being who he is, has fought against immigration since day one, and has relentlessly attacked Dreamers and the DACA legislation.
But obviously it’s Sanders’ job to make the president look way better than what he actually is, so she blamed immigrants and Democrats, saying that Trump “wanted to see something get done and Democrats refused to actually put something on the table or work with the president to get anything done.”
Sanders claimed that Democrats are using Dreamers as “political pawns,” yet failed to acknowledge the importance of coming to an agreement on both sides. She said that she was “incredibly sad” about what’s happening, and then continued to make weak attacks on Democrats.
Sanders said, “Look, the president made two incredibly generous offers. And Democrats still refused to make a deal and I think it’s because we’re getting close to an election, they don’t want to see the president continue to win like he has for the last year and a half and they’re going to do everything they can, even if it means hurting people across this country if they think it takes a hit at the president.”
The fact that they think President Trump is “winning” has bad news written all over it.
