A trio of alt-right leaders who participated in the “Unite the Right Rally” in Charlottesville, Virginia this past August were found guilty on Friday of misdemeanor charges, the Daily Beast reports.

Nathan Benjamin Damigo, Evan McLaren, and John Paul Struys were all tried and convicted on charges of failing to disperse after an unlawful assembly was declared by police, according to the Beast.

Their lawyer Elmer Woodard—who is also defending weeping white supremacist Christopher Cantwell against multiple felony charges—told Judge Robert Downer the trio did not willfully ignore police orders because the orders were not given legally.

Judge Downer disagreed. He sentenced McLaren to $100 fine, as he ruled the defendant’s defiance was an act of civil disobedience. Damigo and Struys were given a $200 fine’

Through Woodward, the trio have already filed an appeal, the Beast notes.
