Trump Just Attacked A ‘Deplorable’ On Twitter After Misreading His Tweet

In the wake of his misguided feud with LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA basketball player LiAngelo Ball who was recently released from a Chinese prison, Trump has been extraordinarily present on Twitter, lobbing targeted attacks at the man whom he calls an “ungrateful fool.”

This morning, a Trump supporter took to Twitter to commiserate with the President. But Trump, in his eagerness to attack American citizens on Twitter (as we’ve come to expect from the full grown, 71-year-old President of the United States), misread the tweet and instead berated his own supporter

Realizing his mistake, he quickly deleted his post and compensated by instead retweeting the supporter.

This marks the fourth day of Trump’s wholly self-sustained feud with LaVar Ball. While his insults are undoubtedly petty, they are not necessarily void of strategy; Trump’s proclivity to pick fights with black people in the sports world (such as Jamele Hill, Colin Kaepernick, and Steph Curry) are an effective way for the President to rally his base.

Instead of chomping at the bit to insult the citizens of the country he “leads,” Trump should probably take care to at least read what he’s responding to. Or, better yet, he should put his phone down and learn to govern. With zero major legislative accomplishments to boast of, dismal approval ratings, and a wave a Democratic candidates primed to pick off Republicans in the 2018 midterms, the clock is ticking.
