At tonight’s annual Gridiron Club dinner, Trump made a quip about his wife that she might not find all that funny. (See video below)

At the “White Tie” dinner, at which reporters were present but filming is not allowed, the president took to the mic and pondered aloud:

“So many people have been leaving the White House. It’s invigorating since you want turnover. I like chaos. It really is good. Who’s going to be the next to leave? Steve Miller or Melania?”

While the remark was clearly a joke, it comes on the heels of a very real source of contention between the president and his wife—his alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.

Per a bombshell Wall Street Journal report, Daniels received a $130,000 payout from Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, as part of a nondisclosure agreement in October of 2016, one month before the general election, to preclude her from speaking out about the affair.

However, because Trump’s lawyer “breached confidentiality” by discussing the $130,000 payment, Ms. Daniels contends that she is now free to tell all about the affair.

In an In Touch Magazine interview, Daniels claimed that Trump had an affair with her in 2005 shortly after Melania gave birth to their child.

“I actually don’t even know why I did it, but I do remember while we were having sex, I was like, ‘Please, don’t try to pay me,’” Daniels told the magazine.

“We hung out for a little while, and he just kept saying, ‘I’m gonna call you, I’m gonna call you. I have to see you again. You’re amazing. We have to get you on The Apprentice,’” she added.

Trump’s relationship with the First Lady very clearly seems to be strained. For example, Melania arrived to Trump’s State of the Union speech separately, breaking longstanding tradition. She also canceled her trip to Davos, Switzerland, at which she was supposed to accompany her husband at a summit before news of the Stormy Daniels affair broke.
