Former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton, has a sound message for Ivanka Trump: Suck it up, Buttercup. According to Clinton. Ivanka is fair game when it comes to criticism launched at the White House and the first daughter needs to grow a thicker layer of skin. (see video below)
Clinton made the comments during an appearance on the Late Show on Monday evening, saying, “I think anyone who works for the president should expect to be scrutinized for whatever decisions not only he or she is making, but whatever decisions the White House is making on any given day.”
Ivanka, who, by the grace of nepotism, serves as a White House Adviser and has taken extreme heat for some of President Donald Trump’s policies, particularly those involving women. Last year, Ivanka complained, saying liberal critics have “unrealistic expectations” about her ability to control or influence her father’s political agenda.
Last month, Ivanka made headlines after an interview outburst at the Olympics, where she claimed it was “inappropriate” to ask her about the sexual misconduct allegations against Trump.
“I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters. I believe my father, I know my father, so I think I have that right as a daughter to believe my father,” Ivanka Trump told NBC’s Peter Alexander during the interview.
When asked by Late Show host Stephan Colbert if she and Ivanka were still friends, Clinton replied, “I have not spoken to her in a long time. It’s clear though that she has supported policies and decisions that I don’t agree with.”
Clinton added that she the Trump administration is “the collision of cruelty and incompetence.”
